Wat Phraphutthabat Tak Pha วัดพระพุทธบาทตากผ้า ลำพูน
Wat Phraphutthabat Tak Pha (วัดพระพุทธบาทตากผ้า ลำพูน) Lamphun Wat Phraphutthabat Tak Pha - Legend has it that Lord Buddha himself once rested at this sacred place, his drying, freshly-washed saffron robe leaving an indelible imprint upon the stone. It is also said that his footprint can be seen as well, in what is now the well-known temple, WatPhraPhutthabatTakPha.
A Naga or sea-serpent banister guards a staircase of 469 steps – a lucky number – which connects a Chedi to the temple at the foot of the mountain. Nowadays, a vehicle can be driven to the mountain summit.
To get there, take Highway 106 to Km. 136-137, turning in for approximately 1 kilometer before reaching the temple.
The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-6.00 pm. For more information, visit the website at www.phrabat.com, or call 0 5324 8604 or 0 5324 8607.
