Another place of interest in Amphoe Chiang Kham is Wat Phrathat Sop Waen. The temple houses a several century-old Chedi, enshrining the remains of the Lord Buddha’s hair and chin.
Although the ancient temple has been renovated many times, its historic Lanna Thai style has been carefully preserved. Inside the compound, visitors can admire traditional aspects of the Tai Lue people, including the Tai Lue Fabric Weaving Center and Tai Lue architecture. Also inside, the canopy of a massive rain tree, or Samanea Saman, is an impressive sight to behold.
The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm.
