Khun Sathan National Park covers the area of Nanoi and Namuen district. It was established as a national park about ten years ago From this reason, it may be not so well-known to tourists. However, the scenery of this national park is not less beautiful than others. The office of the national park is set on “Doi Mae Chok”. This Doi Mae Chok is also the view point for watching the sea of mist, sunrise and sunset. The accommodations and space for setting up tents and camping are available on thehill with the reputation of beautiful view because they are situated on the top of the hill.

    You are able to see the view of mountains from the rooms’ big and long windows. Another thing that makes Khun Sathan become more famous is “Thailand’s sakura” or Wild Himalayan cherry which annually blossoms in winter especially in December. The perfect place to watch Wild Himalayan cherry trees is “Khun Sathan Water Source Research Station” which is approximately 2 kilometers far from the National park’s office. This area is the source of Nam Heang stream before flowing into Nan river basin together with other streams. The Station has taken care of the area and has grown plants in order to restore the water source’s condition to be fertile. There are also a lot of Wild Himalayan cherry trees inside the Research Station and along the road outside the station.
