    Chinese New Year is a day that is a tradition of great Chaina, and Chinese around the world gets ready to celebrate largely. In Thailand, If We mention Chinese New Year in Thailand, We have to remind it in Nakhonsawan province. This province is origin of Chaophraya river that is call "Pak Nam Pho". The province is like a door to north, and it is a Centre of trade. besides, it is important economics. Many lineages of Chinese who migrate and live around there call it "Kwai Yai". Around the origin of Chaophraya river has Pak Nam Pho market where is the west end of it Their ancestors believe in gods, and they bring their gods to be always handy. They have respected for The Godfather thepharak - The Godfather Guan au - Goddess thapthim, and Goddess Heavenly .when they established. They built Shrines where god and goddess stay to respect. They built two joss houses one is Shrines Godfather thepharak where locate at river side of Pak Nam Pho market, and Shrines Goddess Napha where is nearly ping river at Napha village and not of Pak Nam Pho market

    Mr. Wisut Buachum, the director of Tourism Authority of Thailand of Nakhonsawan office, stated that in Nakhonsawan hundred years ago there was a great infectious disease in the area of Pak Nam Pho market. It caused a large amount of death. Eventually, the Chinese in Pak Nam Pho cured the disease by burning "Kra Dat Hoo" which is talisman paper from the shrine and drinking the water boiled with paper ash. This news has widely spreaded through Nakhonsawan. From that time, the Chinese in Pak Nam Pho respecfully invited every god and goddess to behold religious procession around Pak Nam Pho market every Chinese New Year. This tradition has been continuously held for 102 years for the auspiciousness and properity in commerce. It's believed that god and goddess will give good fortune when we pay respectful homage to them. In the procession, there will be Chinese lion, Aeng kor, Lor gow, golden lion, beautiful ladies, angels, Guan Im, etc. Our organizing comittees set the date of Pak Nam Pho Chinese New Year tradition during Friday 9th Febuary to Tuesday 20th of Febuary (12 days and 12 nights).

    We, Tourism Authority of Thailand Nakhon Sawan office, are inviting everyone to join Pak Nam Pho Chinese New Year. Enjoy beautiful night processions and the symphony of light of “ The River of Faith, the Dawn of New Beginning” show on the Chaopraya riverside mainstage. In Febuary 14th Wednesday "Wan Jai", 15th Thrusday "Wan Wai", 16th Friday "Wan Chew Ek", and 18th Sunday "Wan Chew Sha", witness the first Chinese New Year processions in Thailand with many of Chinese tradional eye-catchingfigures. In the morning of 19th Monday "Wan Chew Si", worshiping Pak Nam Pho god and goddess sacred processions will bring you auspiciousness and prosperity in life.
