Inthakhin Archaeological Site and Pottery Museum

 When the ancient kilns of Inthakhin sub-district was discovered during 1993-1996, it helps affirm the existence of the ancient village of Phan Aek Phan Fuea Mueang Kaen, a pottery village appeared in the Lanna history during the reign of King Mengrai (1258 - 1311 AD). The kilns were good conditions making they are important archeological evidences showing that it was probably the center of pottery making of the Lanna kingdom, during circa 1407-1457 AD. Most of the earthenware found here at the archeological site are the celadon, the type of clay pottery finished with light green or greenish-brown glaze, similar to those found in Si Satchanalai and Chiang Rai. This celadon-glazed earthenware was one of Lanna kingdom’s main exporting produces. The museum showcases archeological evidences found on site, including celadon porcelains and kilns.
