Situated within the Omkoi Wildlife Sanctuary, Doi Mon Chong is a beautiful mountainous hill featuring attractions such as the near-extinct mountain goat, rare birds, Thailand’s largest azelia flowers (blossom during Dec-Jan) as well as breathtaking mountainscape vistas. Hiking trip up Doi Mon Chong can be done within a day, but it would be a very exhausting trip you shouldn’t start treking any later than 6:30 am. Thus, a minimum if a night stay is better advised. A visit to Doi Mon Chong requires an advance permission from Omkoi Wildlife Sanctuary, though.
