Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail – Doi Inthanon National Park
3 kilometers of the nature trail at 2000 meters high from the sea level, Kew Mae Pan nature trial is a popular trail of Doi Inthanon National Park, the most famoust and highest mountain of Thailand. An officer is need to be with the tourist while walking, the trail is through the cloud forest, filmy fern, waterfall and then sub-alpine meadow a chance to see some gorals and sea of mist in front of you like you are walking on top of it, wild flower like rhododendron beside of the walkway.
The forest on the opposite sides of the mountain ridge are very different, the trees on the outer slope facing the sun and the wind are stunted. The soil here is of poor quality since the humus layer is washed away by the rain. The occasional bush fire from the village below degrades it further. By contrast, the inner slope is protected from these hazards,is lush and green. The rainfall over here dripples slowly among the leafy trunk and slowly sieves through the root system to eventually from the forest stream below.
